In June 2016, we changed our name from Battery Boys to Bolt Mobile to better align with our business as a SaskTel Authorized Dealer. We finally pulled the trigger and made the transition. We changed everything from our branding right down to our mission, vision and why we do what we do. It’s been a roller coaster ride and we’re excited for the future ahead.

Don’t worry – we’re still the same great company. We’re a local, family-owned business and we as a company pride ourselves on doing the little things everyday that make a big difference to our customers. We do things different.

Battery Boys first launched back in 1989 as an automotive battery store and before we knew it, we were into specialty batteries. We started to sell batteries and accessories for your cell phone and as the demand for mobile devices grew, the opportunity to get into the cellular industry was a natural fit. In 1999, the company become a SaskTel dealer and started to focus on SaskTel mobility as a way to diversify our products and services. Looking back, it was the best decision we have ever made.

Fast forward to today with 4 convenient locations in Saskatoon, cell phones and accessories have become our bread and butter. That being said, residents of Saskatoon and area have come to know us as a one-stop-shop for batteries as well. We still do everything from replacing batteries in key fobs and watches, all the way to cordless phones and custom builds for power tools.

We knew that in transitioning our business from Battery Boys to Bolt Mobile, we had to focus on our employees first. It was an opportunity to start fresh. Our employees are the face of our company and it’s our phone and battery experts that are going to make the biggest impact for our business.

In 2016, we made huge strides internally to better serve you. We wanted to make Bolt Mobile a great place to work and in return, we would have engaged employees that loved to solve people’s problems. By implementing a social committee and revamping our employment structure, we have achieved just that.
